600 - 750 RPMs idle is normal.

as for the drop to 1000 then bounce up to 1500?? I'd have to see. Possibly normal, just depends.

I find it does that drop thing when you have the Air conditioning is running and if you stop quicker than normal the drop can actually stall the car. Have had it happen a couple of times.

It's called a torque converter, when you let off the gas, the revs are supposed to go down. Not a problem with the tranny, happy motoring.

That's the torque converter (TC) unlocking.

When it goes up like that, the TC is unlocking, when the RPMs drop, the TC is locking. This is how Acura gets better gas mileage out of the car....

This section of this article kind of touches on why torque converters lock up...... it's a couple of paragraphs down....

Exclamation ALSO!

I checked this out last night while driving.

Are you driving in AUTO or SS mode? I left my car in auto and it bounces back up to 1500 rpm when the tranny downshifts. .....doh....don't know why I didn't think of that yesterday.

Anyway.....enjoy!

is there any torque converters out for the TL-S? I've heard of one from level 10 but i heard they are having some legal issues.
