Replacement OEM Wiper Blade

Who makes the OEM wiper blades? And is there a retailer online where I can find them?

The PIAA and Bosch seem to stand a little taller than OEM and I don't like the holes across the top.

*Also, my right blade rests above the hood line, whereas my left blade hides under the hood. Is this standard on the 2nd gen? Is it possible to adjust the right blade to sit lower than its present position?

Thanks for all replies!

the way the wipers are, are normal....the right hand one rests a bit higher than the left....

i also really like the OEM blades.....i'd just go to the dealer and get them. that's what I'M gonna do.

I don't know who makes the OEM blades, but I can tell you the PIAA ones are much better than OEM. Replaced mine a month or so ago and what a differnence! Very quiet, efficient, and water rolls away @ high speeds for great visibility... well worth the extra price IMO.

Btw, what holes across the top were you referring to?

Thats what I do too. Go to the dealer and get it because they are much smoother and quieter when they are wiping.

The dealer seems a much better deal since they actually only change the blades (rubber squeegee part) and leave the factory wiper arm there. They might throw the labor in for free if you get it done with a scheduled service.

I have seen a 2nd gen TL with the passenger side wipers higher than usual and clears the hood lip. I guess he just re-installed it a couple of notches higher. A neat idea I have seen lately was that curved wiper blade with no metal arms and hinges. I'm thinking it would do a better job especially on the passenger side.

You can always try these...

Valeo® Ultimate™ Wiper Blades

but they are VERY EXPENSIVE ($78) for a pair @ tirerack.

i use the bosch micro edge. they work better than the oems did.

i also replace teh whole blade. the metal part is designed as a spring to help keep it pressed on the windshield over time it stops flexing as well and doesnt allow the wiper to be as good.
the holes in the top allow for better air flow at hwy speed.

i change mine out twice a year (they dont last much longer that that any way) spring and fall.

Or...

If you don't like the added spoiler, you can go with these...

SilBlades for $48.00 a pair.

Unlike the others, these have a 5 year warranty on them.

I bought mine 2 years ago and the chrome started to peel....so I was about to buy the PIAAs yesterday....but figured...what the heck, let me try and test their warranty claim...so i did...and guess what...just like MAGNA DONNELLY (the manufacturer of our mirrors with KICKASS service)...they're going to send me replacements. I should have my new pair by no later than this week!

Go to Pepboys.com and go to "Shop Online" then do a search on the word "bosch". You will see "Bosch wiper blade REFILLS" which is just the rubber piece. Be aware that the 19-inch for $7.80 you will get 2 refills in a box, but the 24-inch for $7.71 you only get 1 per box which is way cheaper than getting the whole blade. And the shipping is FREE!!!!

Across the top of the wiper blade arm are a bunch of holes. Maybe 12-15 or so. At least all the Bosch and PIAA that I have seen in the stores have the holes. Don't really care for the look.

If you want to save some money, you can buy the PIAA refills and install the on the OEM blades. They fit.

Has anyone tried the Trico ExactFit brand from Advance Auto Parts? Curious to know if they are any good at all.
