Removing Dealer Decal
My dealer has not offered me any monthly fee to serve as rolling advertisement yet put a decal sticker on the trunk lid and a huge custom plate up front. The front plate came off within 30 seconds off getting home. The question is how to safely remove the trunk lid decal? Any input?

My dealer recently started using those crappy stickers also. That's why before I picked up the car I told them no sticker. I was fine with a back license plate frame but no sticker.

Or if you want to do it yourself ... you need a hair blower and set it on high ..
YOu want to heat up around the decal and then just peel it off. Make sure that the area around the decal is really hot then it's easier to take it off without any damage. So you probaably have to run your hair blower for awhile.
good luck

When I bought my car in '98 I asked them to take it off and they did no problem. I've always done that and will continue to. The plate frame I don't care about b/c I take it off myself after I buy a new one I like

My dealer asked me if I was interested in doing a little advertising for his porn website.
He had these 2'x2' magnets made up and sticks them to the side of your car. It's a little controversial I think but it's smart of him to use his position as a car salesman to get his side business rolling.
He said I could make like $1,000/month if I agreed to do it.
That sounds pretty good to me!!!

My dealer delivers cars with that extra plate on the front. When I saw it on all their cars, I asked him not to put it on mine, and he agreed. The only other dealer marking I have is the rear license plate frame. I'll be removing that as soon as I get my tag.

Let the sun heat it, then some Prep-sol or mineral spirits to loosen the adhesive, and dental floss to saw it off.
Use the rest of the mineral spirits to clean residue.

Go to the dealer when they are closed and try peeling the decal, name plate or whatever on one of the cars on the lot. If it doesn't do any damage to it, go ahead an try it on your car.
Seriously, the hair dryer works to take the decal off. It the dealer uses anything else, I wouldn't buy a car there.

Long ago I decide not to be a rolling car dealer advertisement. I require any car dealer I do business with to remove, before I take delivery, any stickers, decals, or front plate with the dealer info on it. I will usually leave on the back plates frame because that's not so bad and is easily removed if it offends.
