Removing Brake Rotors. Need Help!!

I just bought new Rotora Rotors for my TL. When I went to go and install them today I have come across a slight problem. I can't get the damn rotors off. Those 2 stupid little screws are rusted in there nice and tight. I tried soaking it with Penetrate and I also ran out and bought a hand impact srewdriver. And Nothing!!

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do. I am scared if I keep messing with the screws that I am going to strip them. But I need to get those Rotors off the damn car.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

An impact screwdriver should do the trick. If you hold the screwdriver to the screw head very snug and rap on the back of the handle with a hammer they should break loose. It's not a big deal if you can't get them or damage them. The screws only purpose is to hold the rotors in place while the wheels are off the car. The wheel lug nuts actually hold the rotors in place. In other words, worst case scenario, you can drill the screw heads off to remove the old rotors, although I'm sure you can get them out with the impact screwdriver. Let us know how it goes. Good luck.

If you end up messing the screws up, you can drop by any Honda/Acura dealer for replacements. Not cheap though, I got raped for 3$/screw

Finally got those suckers off. That impact screwdriver is the shit. Took a few wacks and a couple of broken fingers but I got them off. The Rotora's look sweet.

I am using the Axxis Ultimate Pads. So far everything feels great. The next set I do is for the rear. I want all the rotors to match. But the rears aren't as important as the front.

Here is a pic of my wheels:

Nice work..

I recommend you guys get yourself some ANTI-Seize Compound at the local automotive store.

Place alittle on the screw when you put new ones on and you will never have that headache again.

I had the SAME problem on my 00 Civic. The 1st time I said to hell w/ it and didn't turn the rotors...just put the pads on. The 2nd time I borrowed an impact wrench and beat the living hell out of it for a good 5 minutes and they finally came off. Yes I messed up the screws and I bought a package of 4 for under $4. I felt like God when I got those things off b/c they were such hell but it can be done w/ that impact driver and a few cuss words.

if you have access to a mapps torch or something simular, try heating the screw & surrounding area & those babies will come right off. I constantly have frozen parts @ work, give-em a little heat & there off quicker than a cat can lick its ass.
