Removal help

I have searched for the thread but cannot find it:

I saw that there are some "things" under our back seats that we can remove for weight reasons.

I for the life of me cannot remember what they are or what they are called.

Can someone please help me to remember and locate the post.

I believe it was a DIY post and the pasr being removed was a sound deadening or something like that.

Thanks

PICs up soon for a bunch of mods done recently too

you can take out your back seat real easy - 10mm bolt in the back/bottom corner to take out and 1 in the middle a little off center that holds the bottom portion in. then the bottom part is really just snapped in at the front of the seat.
pull the bottom part out 1st by pulling up on the front of the seat to release the clips then out it comes (assuming you took out the bolt in the back of it)
see for yourself - unless yours is completely different than mine you will only see the metal pan with something that looks like sound deadening spray and some wires and then below that the ground...

All I remember being under there was a few things that looked liked dynamat. But that would account for less than 1 lb, so its pretty pointless. Don't think there is much else there.

I remember a discussion about some parts worth removing. It was in the engine bay I think, and someone referred to them as "vibration dampeners" or something like that. Maybe that's what you were tlaking about?

they are next to the rear mount. They are probably 15 lbs or so and i have never noticed a difference without them.

Hmm, which parts? I plan on doing my rear mount in a week or 2, so I might just get rid of the extra baggage then.

you are talking about less than 1/2 of 1% in the weight of this car...not even worth our time to talk about this honestly everyone

Thanks for clarifying...

So since I'll be in that general area anyways, I figure I might as well take it out. Fsttyms1, could you please explain what parts you are talking about.
