question about labor times?

What going on?

the labor times that the dealer quoted me was:

1.6 hrs for each motor mount

now my question is why does Chilton, alldata, and mitchels labor guides only state:

.8 of an hour for removal and instalation of the front and side motor mount

this question stems from the conversation that i had with my warantee company and that they will not pay for anymore than .8 of an hour for the motor mount, and i am stuck eating the difference in labor costs. about 400$

they are stating that this is the industry standard for all hondas and acuras, but if i take my car to another acura dealer i will get the same quote on time. wouldn't this be considered an industry standard?

all feedback is appreciatied,

Talk to the dealer on the times. in 1.6 hours they should be able to change all 5 mounts and change your oil, and brew you a pot of coffee to drink.

thats what i figured they were saying that in order to get to the motor mount they had to lower the subframe. this sounds rediculous. i know that the dealer is overpriced but i figured that it was based on the labor it's self. i guess this is what it is

thanks,

While it can be done by removing the lower subframe. they dont have to do any thing to the lower subframe to remove the mount

There are 5 (Front, right, rear and 2 on the left)mounts on the TL. It all depends on which ones are bad that you replace.

i only had the front and the left mount replaced if you go to the dealer you are looking at about 150$ per mount and about 2.5 hours in labor
