Problem with new HIDS

I have a 2003 acura tl.I installed my new HIDS ( 35w ballast and 5000k)from hidextra and they worked fine 2 nights ago. Lit up everytime and stayed on. Then today when I walked out of my job I noticed the left side was out. So when I got home I was trying to find the problem. I first checked the fuses and both were good. Then I figured it was a connection.checked those and It didn't turn on . Then I messed with the bulb and the igniter and nothing. Ten minutes later I went to turn in the lights and they both turned on so I wanted to make sure everything was ok so I turned them back off and on and same thing happened with only one light going on. Now both lights didn't turn on.... I noticed the left side would turn on for 1 sec and turn off once I flicked the switch...I'm seriously so angry about these lights and frustrated and don't feel like bothering with it tonight. Any ideas on what could be happening. And hidextra never picks up the phone so idk what to do.

First do the swap test.
If you have your OEM bulbs use them as they should have been working at the time of replacement. Try ballasts first to rule out the ballasts, Once you know the ballasts are OK try the bulbs with the working ballast/s. Then you will know what is malfunctioning.

it sucks but it seems to be a normal thing. When i did the swap, my passenger side never will come back on if I turn them off and then back on within a minute. Ive learned to never leave them on when I get gas at night. and to always turn them off before I have to get back in my car. I think its something to do with the wiring. ive had there system for a long time now and I once finally filled warranty claim and the new ballast and igniter with new bulbs did the exact same thing on the same side.
if you stay using the kit ALWAYS TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON AFTER YOU HAVE STARTED YOUR CAR!
they will work just fine once you turn them on after the engine, ive driven my car multiple times for 5 hours straight at night with them and they never turn off.

HIDextra only has one customer service rep. If you leave a voicemail they will call you back. Cant remember the guys name now but they are super friendly, they just send a new ballast and igniter and they dont ask for the old one back.

It's a shame that I have to return them when I just took the time to remove the bumper to fix my headlights and had to cut my original wire to the ballast. I thought hidextra was a good company but I guess not....what if I had paid someone to do them and then would've had to pay to get them off and then back on..I don't know if the company has changed its products but they suck in my book. You get what you pay for and I wish I bought a different kit. Anyways now my left turns on and the right doesn't. Then when i turn them off and back on the left only flickers and then turns off. I really am so upset and if they don't get back to me I will be posting on their Facebook. Thats a good idea... Do a lot of ppl have problems with them? I thought they were solid after all the people recommended them. If I hook the ballast up to the battery would that help? Would that be hooked up with a relay?

Try TheRetroFitSource when mine failed the Warranty process was a breeze and trouble free.

That sucks, I don't have an issue like that. Maybe they gave you a bad igniter? It's possible the connection is bad. Swap the ballast and igniter with the side that turns on after they sit for a min. I'm wanting to do a swap back to factory myself. Oem was always brighter and a lot less aftermarket looking in me and my friends opinions.

any company can experience a series of bad units---note above post says from retrofit source- warranty use was required, does that make them the same as cheaper units?

learn how HID lights work and stop leaving lights in the AUTO position
flicking them on and off and on is about the worst you can do to them!!!!
OEM lights are not brighter,,, but if you want to - go spend 700+++ DOLLARS for new oem parts that will suffer the same fate as the originals ie: water intrusion
Note that price does not include the 125$ each for oe bulbs!

That is the problem with aftermarket parts there is no real consistency other that consistently letting people down.

Who really wants to buy a brand new part install it and then be let down cause it don't work or don't fit. Then have to remove it, pack it up and send it back. On top of that the company won't or can't respond to you calls?

Life is too short for bs like this.

Exactly, it is a huge hassle because it takes a while for me to get the first one on and now I gotta wait a week for the new one and then have to reinstall everything. You expect that everything would work but whatever, complaining isn't gunna fix my light. They were nice about sending new parts after I sent a email. Hopefully they get here soon so I can finally have my headlights working again, thas all I ask lol

Try Hyluxtek! The quality is fully comparible with Morimoto products - lot of Morimoto products are producted in China too! - they only checkig the quality more detaily.

Hyluxtek (Hylux) ballasts are good, good sealed and you can choice low current start version or quick start version (hight current). For quick start version si good to use relays and connect it directly from battery through relay.

For bulps, try NHK company (try to search "xgy" in alibaba).

I was compelled to the Morimotos just because of the clean reputation of TRS.. So far the customer support and warranty has not let down.
