Please help, car problems
I was driving my car yesterday and at times it would rev alot before it changed gears and suddenly later that day the car would not accelerate at all it only reved up the rpms when i pushed on the pedal. The car does drive on idle but won't accelerate when pedal is puched only revs. It is a 99 acura 3.2tl, i have comptech headers and icebox installed, no other engine mods.
I live in murfreesboro, TN so if anyone has any ideas please let me know where i can take it to be diagnosed. I would like to take it to the gary force acura dealership, i just can't afford an expensive repair bill... i hope it isn't a major issue.

Read the thread Transmission Failure
Its a transmission failure forsure!
Check with acura at 1-800-382-2238 x5
give them the cars VIN number and ask for the ~first date in service~ (when sold)
Thats when the warranty clock starts- we get 7 years plus 9 months
or 109k miles for FREE replacement
If over those limits- acura is really good about splitting the cost with you
Depending on your negotiating skills- 500 to 3000 you pay of a 4000$ job
Make that call now!!! and report back for futher instruction

Car has 130,000 miles on it and a little while back it had a trnny change on it. should i still call that number and ask when it was chnged last?
Just called the acura customer hotline and they told me to get the car diagnosed by an Acura Tech and then the they could review the report and elevate a case to get the transmission fixed. It is out of warranty, i mentioned that the tranny was replaced at 90,000 miles under warranty and it still makes no difference.
I will take it to Acura unless anyone has any other advice...

I spoke with someone locall1y and they suggested that i check the transmission fluid and add more in there. They said that it could be that the fluid is running out. After trying this they told me if it works to get it diagnosed to see if there are any other problems and get a tuneup.
Please, if you know something about this please reply and give me some advice.

I'd put big money on it being a transmission failure, rather than just a lack of fluid. If you're lucky you may get the new one goodwilled, if not, sell the car. At least that's what I'd do.

I'm thinkin about takin the car to the acura dealership to get it diagnosed. I'm also thinkin that i should show it to a local mechanic before i take it to the dealership where i can incur a huge bill. Any thoughts...
