Oil Boy

i am thinking about buying an oil boy so that i can change my own oil. i don't have a flat driveway and i am not a big fan of changing my oil in the street. was wondering if anyone has used this product and what they thought of it. thanks.

ive never liked them, they do a bad job of getting all the oil out... good in marine applications where you cannot access the drain plug...

why not change in the street, get some cardboard to lay on... or just change in your driveway, how slanted is it?

ramps give enough clearence and I dont think that you need to remove the wheel or even turn it to remove the filter. Probably easier but u can reach it from below.

I use a mityvac oil extractor on my cars. It seriously makes the oil change much quicker, and cleaner. People have tested extractors by using them, then jacking up their car and pulling the oilpan plug to see what was left. They found that they do a great job. Some dealerships actually use extraction methods primarily on some euro cars.

On my BMW, the oil filter is in the top of the engine bay, so i dont need to jack my car up at all. On my friends RSX-S with a normal oil filter under the car, the oil change still went much quicker, and with no messy cleanup at all. We both loved using it. If you can get a quality one, Id recommend it.

Kinda off topic but was wondering could one of these vacuum extractor units be used to extract tranny fluid and any other fluids like coolant?

By the way I only jack my car up a little bit and turn the wheels to the right for better access to the oil pan plug and oil filter when I change my oil
