fast, how do you intend on getting the A4 lights to fit in the 99-01 shell

I understand you can do the modifications, but wouldn't that require cutting into the hood as well? are you going to custom fab a hood?

I think it's fantastic that you have such grand ideas (I really wanna see you get that 3.5 done!) but wouldn't it look a little off?

oh and a question, is a J37 physically too big to fit in the engine bay? I know a member here has thrown in a J35, but if all you really need is a JA design engine shouldn't the displacement not matter?

That being said, I've always thought sourcing a 2004 J32A3 from an early 3G (with the 270hp) and possibly boring it a little bigger would be the best choice considering you get that awesome single piece exhaust manifold as well

but i don't know nearly as much as you do, hence the question...I mean a J37 would be godly (if not overkill) in a 2G

Of course cutting will most likely be required. Ill do all the necessary cutting and welding to make it flow correctly (if they fit height wise)

As for the new J37 the motor is too different to use. Im sure with the right amount of money its possible. Sticking the J37 crank into our motor however with a little work with a snout spacer works. Boring the motor out bigger really isnt an option. We dont have much to remove. That single piece exhaust manifold is shit Id rather have a nice tubular header that flows better. I want 315+ at the wheels NA which i think will be easy to do with what i am planing. Problem is is i keep flopping back and forth to possibly boosting it 3-5 psi as well which changes the build. Odds are it will be NA. I just need to find a way to tune it.

Thats what im gunning for. As soon as i get the light in my hand ill find out what it will take. If i can get it to fit correctly or know i can, ill order the other side and lights and ballast and get to work on the sheet metal.

You'll have to forgive me for not reading the entire thread, it's long and old lol. But are you planning to put a J35 into your TL? If so, my ideal setup with a J35 would be to install it, new headers and low boost. pipe dream? maybe. I'm sure you know better than I do

Wait, I always thought that the J32A3 from the '04 fit just fine into the 2G, don't most people who source an '04 6spd usually replace the J32A1/2 with that engine when they do it?

No, im keeping the J32A2 but putting a mix and match set of internals.

No because most doing the 6 speedswap keep the J32A2. Only those that that do a 3.5 conversion use the J35 (and some dont even use that, but use the crank for it)

That's gonna be some serious work...

GL with the fender. Looks like you're going to have to close it up somehow.
