Getting ready for your wedding>Modding you car

Why? Well your car won't be mad at you indefinitely if something goes wrong.

Let's hope your 3rd Reich themed hooker parties are a thing of the past!

Sounds really nice. It has a bit of rasp at like 6k that id like to get rid of but overall its much better. Its louder but quieter in the car on the HWY now. I can actually hear the exhaust at WOT now

Are there any plans to dyno your car and guess at the gains? I'm a very visual person. How loud is it? Also, i'm not sure of the pipe size, but do you think your exhaust set up would gain similar results on a TL-S?

Not sure what the gains would be normally. I had TL-P piping with the type-s motor. Its not loud at all. I do plan on dynoing at some point. Maybe then ill throw on the stock piping and do a run just to see. Yes i do think the type-s would see gains, probably not as much as i did due to my smaller piping but there would be gains.

I did it for my other projects. Which are listed in this thread

iirc i don't think anyone's run 3.5 and s/c. did you get the RL or ody pistons? i think the rl's were higher compression.

Ive got the RL and the stock TL-S pistons (both are the .25 larger factory piston). Not sure what i want to use. RL is the highest compression. Not sure if i can safely run that with the HBP down the road.

so far what i've read is that higher CR is just harder to tune with FI, but if you got a good tuner, it's not a problem. HBP is only 6psi, which isn't really that high. RL cr i believe is 11:1, and apparently so is the TL-S. i think scalbert could chime in about it, though

some examples:
s2k (11:1)
rsx-s (11:1)

I have been wondering that same thing. I'm afraid if I use RL pistons, I won't be able to safely fun a blower due to compression.

sorry, i meant the examples are of motors with stock high compression that run >7psi boost. check out the respective forums for info

$270, thats a great price Kris. You also get the satisfaction of doing it yourself. The pics look great. Glad you like the sound now. I'm sure you will fix that rasp at 6k in no time. Eventually when I get headers, I want to delete my cat as well. Did you use the old spark plug defouler trick to NOT get a CEL? That's my plan when I finally do it.

the 2nd gen is 10.5:1 so i would be playing it safer going that route. Trying to find a tuner out here is harder than finding a used hooker without diseases, and what im worried about. In the end ill probably go RL for no other reason than to say i have it

Ive pulled a 2500+ lb boat (with trailer) and the back end barely sagged. Its all in the weight distribution of the trailer.
