My fan melted!
I was driving to the gym today, and I started smelling burning plastic! When I parked, I finally noticed smoke coming from under the hood. The fan right behind the radiator had melted off! The 2 top screws that held the fan motor melted off and the motor tipped foward, and the fan blades were resting on the radiator burning! I never heard of this problem on the boards, I guess I was an unlucky one? Hope my car is fixed quick! The regular TL they gave me for a loaner just doesn't cut it
My passengers have recently been smelling a burnt smell comming from my car too. At first I ignored it...but now I'm thinking that I ran over a plastic bag and is stuck under the engine bay (happened to my GF). But yeah...burnt fan...I'll look into it right now.
Thanks
Thanks

Update
Well, the tow truck driver said the fan probably seized and overheated, causing it to melt. The tech at Acura also said something might have gotten in there and caused it to seize, like a pebble or something. Hopefully that's the case, and it's not a defect, although that's a pretty serious issue having the plastic frame melt and causing the fan to come lose! At least they overnighted the part, and I get my car back today :p
