modifying mugen grille
just got my mugen grille in today and i just dropped it off to get painted. i am going to put it on and see how i like it with the mugen emblem on it. those of you who have this grille, how many of you have modified it so it doesn't have that middle section? how easy was it to do? etc. etc.
thanks.
thanks.
nsx said that he cut off the center bar, then had it re painted. so you should cut it off before you have it painted because some of the paint will be stipped off
mine should be here today or tomorrow. you ordered a black one right?

Yeah I had a body shop cut out the center section and repaint the whole thing.
Here's a pic

And yes I did paint that support behind the grill flat black so you can't see it anymore. It's an old picture.
One thing, you'll have to re-mesh the opening. The stock mesh is two pieces on either side of the center support. I redid mine with Foliatec mesh, it's aluminized mesh and doesn't turn gray like gutter guard.

Mine was TLon19s grill, he cut it out and meshed it. I smoothed the cut and had it repainted and I remeshed it. A friend had it painted for $30.
The foghole mesh looks different in the pics but it really isn't, its just at a different angle.

It dosent look to hard to make the mugen Grill off a stock car. Just cut yout the back and put gutter gaurd in the back instead of the front and take it to a body shop have them sand it down and paint it to your color of the car. Will this work?
