Installing leds in the vents, need HELP wiring the switch??

I just got 2 sets of 4 white leds from ebay, gonna try to install them in the A/C vents see how that gonna look.

check out the link : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

scroll the web page all the way down u'll see the switch it came with, i'm an idiot on wiring, all i know is black to black, red to red. So maybe some pro here can help me out a little.

O, by the way, I'm also considering one of those lighted switch. I konw "search" is my good friend. I found a recent thread about blinker but that's sort of another situation.

So, what should i wire it if i got a lighted switch???

with the switch, main hot wire to LOAD, ground wire to any screw, Power to to your LEDs.

Becareful when you will be pulling the whole console trim off, dont break anything.

I assume the best way to connect them is thru your parking lights, this way they will turn off with the parking lights off.

So....What would you guys suggest for the constant power for switch light (the digital clock??) And is it possible for me to wire all leds to the power of the A/C button??

i dont believe you can draw much from A/C power, since Im sure the voltage there is well below 12v to support the stock bulbs/LEDs. Just connect to a steady 12v, and use a switch. Dont get too fancy with it, especially when you dont feel too comfortable with the electric wiring.

if you lived any where around me, I would of helped you. You dont have to splice your wiring, you can use a special tapping clip, that goes over a wire, clips on it, and makes a connection, to which you can add a wire, sold at most auto stores.

Yea teknoking, i know those clip wire thing and i'm gonnna get some. Too bad i live way too far from NY, i jsut got back from there thou. Damn i love NYC hopefully i can get a job there after graduate.

I dont really care about rep points but since ppl like it, o well, rep points for everyone.

I suggest you stick to any wiring actually done around the fuse box, so you can even use add-a-circuit plug...its bettery to have connetions under one place so you know where to look in case of anything, and if you want to check which wire is hot and when, use a multimeter, stick the black-negative end at the chasis, and the red at the tip of the wires.

i'll be back later, got a new yellotop battery today, i need to raise is up a little bit, peace.
