Hey I am trying to figure out what is wrong with my car (without paying hundreds for the answer) The check engine light just came on one day and after driving for about 100 feet or so the ETC light comes on as well (both stay on all the time now) The car currently sounds more like a dragster than an acura I took it to autozone and had the codes read, it is missfireing in all six cylinders as well as a "random" (whatever that means!) missfire. The problem I dont get is the car is missfireing (you can hear it) yet it still drives just has no power, however the car seams okay above 3500 RPM. also I have no idea where the idile speed is but the Tachometer is barley above zero like between zero and the line right above it! if any one has any clue what this might be that would be very helpfull thanks!

 

IACV-Idle Air Control Valve might be malfunctioning. Are you still under warranty because you need to get that looked at ASAP. Might also be your fuel injectors?? Could be a whole bunch of shit so it'd be better to get it looked at ASAP.

 

that you may want to bring to the dealer if its a missfire on all 6

 

Spark plugs.

Replace all 6, and the problem should be fixed.


Although Acura says our cars don't need new spark plugs until 105,000, it is so not the case.

 

Thank you guys for your help a friend of mine suggested I try cleanign the EGR valve so I figured I will try that and if that fails...well go from there I am taking the car in in two weeks! Thanks again!
