dude, i agree with you 100%. more than likely, your mirror will fail so you might as well get a new one now and just return the other one if your conscience bothers you that much. dont worry about what everyone else says...i'm sure they're no angels either

Thanks for the support, I just know how these TL's are. If one person has a problem w/ their car we all usually experience problems. I guess I will just replace it, and send my other one to them. I honestly didn't look at from their point of view. I guess I shouldn't have done it.

Well, you might as well as for a replacement transmission now too to set aside...

What's the point of having an extra mirror "in case" something happens. Although this is a common problem, it's not guaranteed to happen. Personally, I have enough shit lying around, I don't need an extra rear view mirror to add to it. Claiming to have a broken mirror when you don't is fraudulent, and shouldn't be condoned.

Just to let everyone know.....my mirror does not work. I took a flashlight to it and did the test, and it did nothing. So, apparently the mirror has never worked since I have had the car. So for everyone who has put their 2 cents in about me trying to get a free mirror, I guess it's good that I actually got it coming. Now, if someone could just help expain to me how to remove my old one. It is already real loose and vibrates all the time. Will that make it easier to take off?

well Im sure after that lady got a huge volume of emails at the same time regarding the TL mirrors, they got suspicious. If you guys played smarter, and requested a new mirror one person at a time, every few days, it would of worked out for all of us.

Now they do request/require the old mirror back. My mirror is always off anywayz, the tints to the job just fine.

I got the same message after trying to replace my mirrror (legit). Ugh.. I guess I'm off to a junkyard search.

Robby;

Sorry we are no longer replacing defective mirrors. It cannot be fixed. You will have to go to your local dealer for replacement.

Do any of you have the "answers" to the questionaire that they send to you for the OnStar mirror?

I really don't want to take it all apart to get the wire harness colors etc, if you all already know what the right answer is...

I have an RMA that I think will still be valid, even though they've stopped offering the replacement...

Oh...and this is a totally legit replacement request... It's just me trying to save the hassle of taking the mirror housing apart to get to the wiring colors...

Ouch... Okay, thanks for letting me know...

As someone else on this thread has already mentioned, with the tint, it is not a big deal... It would be good to have a working unit...but it is not a huge priority for me...

Does anyone know if tint on your rear window affects the mirror dimming?
