Help !! Driver side hid shutoff after driving for a while

Help !! Driver side hid shutoff after driving for a while

Hey everyone I need help for this issues that has appeared , it happened once 6 months ago I hit a bump and my driver side headlight turned off but when i would turn off and on it would work again no more issues for 6 months , but now 6 months later it shut off after driving for a while when I flick the lights off and on they turn on again I thought it might be the headlight bulbs I replaced them both a couple of days ago and this still happens ? What should I verify

Hey, that was happening to me too. Try swapping the sides that the ballasts are on, and seeing if the issue changes what side it happens on.

I ended up just changing my entire light system out, as it wasn't much more expensive than getting new OEM parts. You can find pictures and a list of parts over on the Photographs sub-forum here

What’s weird is that when I leave the car on for around 30 minutes with headlights on they do not shut off as soon as I start driving the driver side one will shut off always at a different time and sometimes it il will work for a while ...

Yeah, i figured it was a bump on the road causing it, because I was having the EXACT same issue.

Could it be a loose connection or ground or is it really the ballast dying ....? I find it weird that when it only turn it on without driving it does not shut off by itself

I wasn't able to find the bad connection. I did swap sides with the ballasts, and the problem traveled with the ballast. Later on both ballasts were doing it. Of course I also wanted to upgrade my lights anyhow, so I was biased towards replacing the whole thing anyhow :P
