I'm starting to get a hard shift when the tranny shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear. Is this the begining of the tranny failure? I also have a question about changing the air filter for my AEM CAI. Is it easy to pull the filter out and clean it or do I have have some one professionally do it for me. I am not mechanically inclined.

 

i think k&n has a filter cleaning kit...cleaner and oil for it

yeah.......mine shifted hard and i payed no attention to it..........now my tranny is on its last leg and is gonna go any minute now. but its ok cause my new tranny came yesterday...puttin it in tuesday

 

Yes, the 2->3 shift (and sometimes reverse) is where you really feel it when it starts to go out. Does it rev and then finally catch? If so - you'll be needing a new tranny...

You may want to start making an appointment to have Acura check it out. Sounds like it is going, better to at least get it documented with Acura that you are having a problem.

 

Its going, same thing happened to me last month. On new tranny now. This is starting to get sick, hope Acura/Honda is looking around the Net about all these issues!! Maybe they should have GM build their trannies or something!!

 

I am having the same problem with my 2nd and 3rd gear. its happened about 4 times, where it won't go into 3rd gear, just stays in second, till i pull over, shut the car off and restart it.

I've never had a hard shift. The only thing that bothers me is that when I park or stop in front of my pad and I have to put it into park. Everytime I put it into reverse it shifts hard.

 

Well, I took my car to the dealer today. Frank the service manager said he is ordering a new tranny for me. It will be here in 3 to 4 business days. He said they can put it in in one day. I hope this one lasts longer than 10000 miles. I think this tranny problem is going to be expensive for honda. I hope the tranny does not go out before the new one comes in.
