Is this a good price on a 2002 TL-type S

I am looking at a 2002 TL-type S (no NAVI) with 59000 mile and the dealer is asking 15,800. Is this a good deal? I drove the car and it runs fine, except for a slight jerking noticed when braking from above 45 mph. Other than that, the car seems to be in great shape. Thoughts????

um, yeah that's a GREAT price...just be sure that there's nothing else significantly wrong with the car. If you do buy it, then congrats and good luck with the new car!!

"slight jerking noticed when braking from above 45 mph"

50 buck says you'll need your rotors resurfaced - especially if it still ahs the original brackes on - you may need pads as well. And you should flush it. Offer him 15 even and tell him you know you'll need a brake job and a fluid flush. He mite bite(or tell you to F off)

That's a GREAT price. If there is a clean CARFAX, DEFINITELY GO FOR IT.

Thanks for the input from everyone. I will talk with the dealer today, and see if I can get him down a bit due to the required brake work. Thanks again.

What's up? I've been on the board daily but mainly just reading. You know I sold the TLS so I'm sorta of an outsider for now. But hopefully not for long.

I wouldn't get too greedy. Anybody that really wants a TL-S will jump at that price.

When I bought out TL I noticed that the cars that were "out of warranty" were significantly cheaper. Over 50,000 miles. We just got our TL-S in January. Paid $20,000. I would have paid $25,000 just to get out of the CL we traded in. What a piece of shit.

The brakes are actually a common issue with the TL. The rotors usually need resurfacing at 45,000 miles. After that they chew up pads like a hungry dog.

Good price though. I'd be on top of that man.

Talked to the dealer, he went down 300 due to the brakes, and I bought it on the spot. Thanks to all for their help in my decision.

No, I'm pushing my boyfriend too and he is really leaning toward it. I'm sticking to my guns and getting the 06 G35 coupe in December

I would have offered him $15,500 like you got + he has to resurface all rotors and replace all pads + brake fluid flush...........

I'm over 110,000 miles on my stock rotors and pads on an 02 Type-S. I finally need to replace soon..........no noises yet, just a little shimmy when braking hard.
