I just put this on my 2002 TL Type S. Haven't had a chance to drain the oil with it yet, so can't give any opinion on ease of use for draining the oil. However, it has no leaks and fits perfect.

I've been using this for a year with no problems. My only complaint would be slow drainage but it's worth the "no mess" factor. And it does fully drain the pan (for all practical purposes).

I think it's the same as all the Accords..Fram part #SD2 just my guess by looking at the Fram web site

Acura/Honda really don't mix and match parts that much. Our oil filters are the same as Hondas. Fram 3593A

ive used it also for a while and my only complait also is a slow drain, but i usually let it drain for like 30 min to get most of it out any way so i dont mind. its really nice as far as the NO MESS goes. oh and its the same part # as the accord

If you use the fram drain plug do you still need to put on the honda/acura crushed washers?

The drain plug should be 14mm X 1.5mm.

I just bought, but haven't installed yet, a magnetic drain plug. Worked fine on my last car.

That's a pretty good idea. I think I will give that a try. For me, taking out the oil filter makes a bigger mess than the drain plug. Now if only they have something for that....

I've heard a lot of good things about the Fumoto drain plug. It appears there is a model for our car: F-106 with the ADL-106 adapter.

Buy it HERE

I'm gonna get this and replace my drain plug, it's beginning to look warped. Thanks!

I don't know if I feel comfortable with that thing hanging down under the car. Nice concept but it's easy to catch things on the undercarrige.

They have 2 versions. With and without a nipple. The one with the nipple should not be used with the low car. Hope its true...I'll let you guys know.

how'd you manage to take off the existing drain plug and replace it with this new sure drain plug with oil in the engine?!!? looks like something i'll be picking up, but for people who have changed their oil with it i wonder if the hole large enough to pass the crud in the oil? would there be the possibility of something getting stuck cuz it's too small??

as for that Fumoto drain plug, even though my car isn't lowered i still wouldn't feel safe with that thing. as per the safety section on their site:
1.Drive carefully at all times, and if you run over any foreign object on the road, pull over and check the valve for any damage or leak.
2.N-Series valve(with Nipple to accept hose) is not recommended for passenger cars with low ground clearance.

that "drive carefully at all times" just makes it sound like a hassle.

I really hope you are kidding about the first sentence. Obviously this would be done when you need an oil change. As for the "drive carefully at all times"warning, it's the same cr@p as the hot coffee warnings on McDonalds coffee cups. CYA my friend.

my bad...it was late...interpreted the meaning of his sentence wrong cuz he says he hasn't had the chance to drain the oil yet but has the new plug on already, so i thought...

but has anyone experienced any problems with the Sure Drain plugging up? and when putting it on, dya need to torque it too? or is a 1/4 turn with any old wrench ok? i don't wanna have to buy a torque wrench and use it just once.

u just need to hand tighten it & u'll be fine. however, it makes no harm to check the value every time u change oil just to make sure it's not loosen.
