i woke up today and noticed the fan didn't blow in my car so i don't have ac or more importantly, heat. what might the problem be? i am hoping it is just a fuse.

 

No blower fan is many times caused by a faulty connection from the resistor which controls the speeds. There are detailed posts on this problem available by "search".

 

i took it to a mechanic and found it was the controller that was burnt.. gonna cost me 500 to fix altogether. sound right?

 

Ask your mechanic to check the connector to the fan motor. One of the wire was burnt out in this connector disable the motor, just like other TL owners post in this board. I ordered a wiring hardness from the dealer, less than $20. I replaced the burnt wiring connector with the new wiring hardness. My blower works ever since.
It is more likely the failure of your blower is due to the burnt wire in the connector than the controller. It is worth a try. I think most Acura shop know about this. I did not have any problem when I ordered the part.
