Question Engine Skip

My TL-S had an engine miss or jerk in the first 300 miles that occured every few miles. I talked to a Honda mechanic and was told it would clear up by the 3rd tank of gas. He states that Honda puts a special very high detergent gas in at the factory and this sometimes causes a miss or skip.
Well, he has proved correct. It now has 700 miles and no skip!

Why would they put Tide into the gas?

Umm, I've decided that quips like that shall be known as "Ruski-isms."

Just back away slowly... and he's harmless!

c'mon, I just wanted to put some fun into this BS dealer story about special detergent in the gas.

Hey you know what though? when my TL-S was new I used to like the smell of the window washer fluid. For real. It smelled different than the fluid I normally get at the store.

Sounds like BS to me. My dealership told me that it was bad gas when my '99 TL stalled on the highway. Then it continued to that skip thing you talked about. Then after a year it started stalling with no reason right before I came to an idle. After 2 years of battling my dealership and Acura I had the car replaced by Acura. The final trouble cold came from the Crank Case Sensor.

This may not be what you are having, but I thought I share my experience. I still love my 2002 TL-S.
