Emblem question...

I would like to debadge the ACURA from my trunk, however I think the A emblem on the 2000 is too small to be left alone. Does the larger A from the 02-03 models fit? Forgive me if this has been asked/discussed before, I searched for a while but couldn't find an answer. Thanks.

I don't think the "A" trunk emblem for the 02-03 TL is an exact fit for the 99-01 models. Reason being: the black chrome emblems are only available for the 99-01 models. From what I understand, the 2 anchors on the back of the emblem do not line up with the holes of the trunk.

If you did buy the 02-03 emblem, you'd have to shave off the 2 anchors for it to fit.

I'm with Derrick.

For what its worth, I think your trunk would look fine debadged, and with the older emblem set. In fact I liked them better than the huge ones that replaced them.

Derrick is right. The 02-03 A emblem will not fit. The holes will not line up on the trunk.

However what you could do is use the 3M tape they use to attach the other emblems. You'd have to cut off the posts on the A emblem and then use the tape to secure it to the trunk. Not sure if you'll be able to hide the holes in the trunk completely though.

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I think I am going to wait until I put on the 02-03 tails (this week) and then photoshop a picture before I remove anything for good. Maybe I'll end up modifying the 02-03 emblem to fit, I'll let you know how I make out.
