Check Engin and TCS lights
Check Engin and TCS lights
i asked this question once beofre a while ago but didnt really get a responce for what it is... so i thought id try again...
when i start my 1999 acura 3.2tl in cold temperatures (-5 celcius and below) after it has been sitting for a few hours, it hessitates to start and the check engin and TCS lights both come on and stay on. the only solution i have found to this problem is to let the car fully warm up, turn it off and than back on.
While the two lights are on, if i try to rev the engin, it doesnt go past 3000rpm, when i put the gear into D4, the light doesnt show up on dash, when i shift gears it makes loud clunking sound, if i put it in a lower gear or reverse and drive it, it requires alot more pressure on the gas peddle to get it going.
what do you guys think this might be a result of? has any one else experianced this before?
any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

only problem with doing that is i dont think its a good idea to be driving the vehicle in that condition.... im assuming somehting important is affected since it wont let me rev over 3000rpm or go into D4. plus idle is rough and when i get off the gas and revs drop, it almost dies.
it almost sounds like a missfire, but u need those codes scaned, if anything start it in the morning when cold, then drive it to napa or partsource, and get it scanned...dont turn it off and restart it to clear it, u need the CEL light on to scan the prob

well if u go to the dealer its a flat 90 bucks....avoid them if u can...
but most independent shops would do it, but call partsource and napa and see if they do it for free....also i bet CDN tire will charge, but cheaper than dealer...
