CD Changer
Jay Wolfe Acura replaced my CD Changer today. Went out at 3 weeks. After a day in the heat, CD changer flashed Er-01 and began to eject CD's. New one works great.
Don't know if my CD-Rs had anything to with it.
Loving my Type-S. By the way, 4 Expressos and Kid Rock do not mix with rush hour traffic!!! (Expressos compliments of the Acura dealership while I waited)

Hey,
The same thing hapened to me a month ago.
They replaced the whole unit and it works fine. I am not using any CD-R inside since then.
I am wondering if this is the cause of the problem? Mine showed ER-1 and did not want to play nor eject the 6 CDs inside(including 1 CD-R).
Any comments, please let know.

I have had the car for two months and have never had any problems with using them.
I usually have anywhere from 2 to 4 CD-Rs loaded in the unit at any given time. I don't use the paper labels, just write right on the CD. I heard the heat will make them peel off and jam the unit.
The only oddity my car has displayed regarding the CD changer is that sometimes when I switch from CD to FM to CD, the CD does not pick up where it left off.
No answers to the dilemma, just no problems to report...

Is it ok to leave the cds in the car ie parked in the hot sun while at work?
I'd like to be able to use all 6 without worrying about a cd meltdown. I assume the changer is totally insulated? Thanks.

As far as I know it is as insulated as the rest of the car. But black interior gets pretty hot!
I will just use original CD's for now. By the way I had just used CD-R's where I had written on them, no stickers.

That's kind of disturbing to know that you were using CDRs without labels. I can kind of see it though. Manufacturer CDs have a metal layer that contains the pits that is pressed between plastic layers. CDRs are all plastic, and I imagine that at least the middle layer is a softer plastic, since it is designed to be melted by the laser when you are recording. I guess conceivably you could melt the plastic if the car got hot enough.
