Catalytic Converter & EGR problem

Allright,
SO I have decided to keep my TL. I took care of most of the problems, but now it is time to fix the one major problem for Emissions test. My engine light is on and the code reads both EGR and Catalytic converter. I have cleaned the EGR 5 times+ and recently replaced the catalytic converter with an aftermarket part. I have heard that the aftermarket part is not good. My engine light goes back on within 50-60 miles of driving.

Acura wants 1200-1500 USD to replace the catalytic converter and fix the EGR. Any help would be appreciated. I read the other threads about the catalytic convertor, and no luck, I would like my engine light turned off so i can pass emissions.

Another way to pass Emission is to clear your code an drive about 45 miles around town (not turn engine off) after hitting about 50 mile find your closest Emission place an get it tests. 1st the emission guy going ask you to turn off your engine, Next he will restart for the test, AT this time your check engine shouldn't pop back up until after 4 or 5 restart an you should PASS.

I KNOW this will not slove your PROBLEM, but I have been though this for pass 2 year an Have a friend with 00TL been doing this 4+ year that ONLY reason I can Say YOU should pass Emission by doing THIS, Also I'm due for emission renew comming up in Sept. an i will be doing this again.
An yes I also try cleaning EGR an change out my o2 sensor last thing now is to do Catalytic converter, BUT now I'm broken due to getting NEW TRANNY put in

If you need a cat maybe consider the Random Tech high flow cat at a fraction of the cost of the OE cat.

this won't fly in Va, because the computer needs 4 sleep cycles for it to register any DATA , I think my only choice is the dealer or someone who works there that can do a side job.

O.K., not sure what you mean by the computer needs 4 sleep cycles for it to register any Data

In Ga you got to pass ASM Emission Test
HC ppm/CO %/NO ppm/ RPM/ CO+CO 2% / Fuel Cap/ Catalytic Converter/Exhaust Output/ etc... Total you got it 25/25 to PASS

Well anyway Good Lucky on your EMISSION TEST
