It depends on the vehicle, but always new bolts and nuts and sometimes gaskets.

No gaskets for the TSX, only bolts, but they are better than stock. For gaskets, check our TSX parts forum, I found the right one and it cost $2.30. You will need 2 of them.

Yes on the TSX they do include gaskets. Random Tech says that you can reuse your old ones or in this case if need be just buy new ones from Acura.

I know it will fit the 97-99 2.2L and 2.3L but I'm not sure about the 3.0L. The prices are already quoted above.

Well if you bought it for the 98-02 Accord 3.0L the part # from Random Tech is 183-20002. What you're saying though is that it fits 97-99 3.0L? If so then this cat will fit the 97-03 CL 3.2L, 3.0L, 2.3L, and 2.2L.

Well as you can see in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=184950&page=2 there is some modification necessary for the high flow cat to fit the Type S. It is set up for the premium model. You need to enlarge the holes on the exhaust flange and extend the 02 sensor wires about 6 inches or so. If you have a stock exhaust you may not even need to enlarge the holes.

So Josh could you ask Random Technology if they have 50 state legal certification.

Don't be lazy...here ya go.

From http://www.RandomTechnology.com

For years, it has been a common belief that all catalytic converters place a choke-hold on performance. In 1993, Random Technology disproved that theory with the introduction of SuperStainless free flow catalytic converters.

Direct-fit, bolt-in SuperStainless converters are available for most vehicles. Click here for application charts that contain specific part numbers for direct fit converters (no welding reqired) Direct fit converters have all necessary flanges and oxygen sensors (if required) as the original equipment converters. Click here for dimensions of universal fit converters which are designed to be welded or clamped in place. Universal fit converters have the same flow characteristics as direct fit models with the same inlet and outlet diameter.

Independent testing by engine builders, racers, and automotive magazines has repeatedly proven the superiority of the Random Technology SuperStainless design. See the "test results" page for actual dyno test data.

This design, which meets Federal EPA and California ARB requirements, enables virtually any vehicle with a properly tuned engine to meet emissions standards with little, if any power loss (compared to an exhaust with no catalytic converter). Please note that it is illegal to remove a properly functioning catalytic converter and that aftermarket catalytic converters are not legal for installation in California on OBD II vehicles (some 1994 & 1995, and all 1996 and later vehicles).

Well they are 49 state legal, excluding CA (the 50th state). They are EPA and CARB approved so you should have no issue at all with emissions but RT can't technically say they are legal in the state of CA.

This does not include an 02 sensor but you shouldn't need to replace it unless the 02 sensor is bad. You can buy the gasket/hardware kit for $15 extra.

It might make it slightly deeper b/c you are flowing more exhaust but it should be minimal.

Excelerate.
i installed this cat.
fit great EXCEPT the 02 sensor bung isn't long enough.
any ideas what to do?
i installed the 02 sensor but left it disconnected.
think thats bad idea?.

can i get an 02 sensor with a longer connector?

and it is installed correctly...it only goes one way.
the flanges are diffferent at each end.

have other customer had this problem?

i'm not sure what to do this.

You have to extend the wires, it sounds pretty simple. CleanCL did it. Search for his RT cat thread.

I just had the exhaust shop that I took it to do some customizing though and it works perfectly.

You can either extend the 02 wires or get an extension. Take your 02 sensor out. If it is not plugged in then you will burn the sensor out. If you don't want to extend your 02 wires then you get this extension:

well.
i cut/soldered/lengthened the 02 sensor wires.
the CEL light stayed on for like 3 days.
then it cleared.
no CEL anymore.
i think disconnecting the battery may have cleared it also.

No they're not, they are 49 state legal but supposedly it would still pass the actual emissions test.

I ended up buying one wholesale and also ran into the 02 sensor wire length problem.

What cat does everyone want to get? I went with the Accord V6 cat, I think the inner diameter piping could b bigger.
