Car won't start.
Hey everyone I have a 2002 TL Type S, my milage is at 205k and this morning I drove to work with no problems. When I had to leave, my car didnt start.
Whenever I turned the keys, I dont hear the click noise. I know the battery is good because my eletronics (windows, radios, dash, lights, etc...) was still working. I also tried to shift gears to neutrual and back to parking several times to start the car again but same result, dead silence....
Any idea or what can I do? Thanks in advance.

I mean definitely buy the new starter now. But I'm saying carrying a hammer and extension bar with you while you wait on the part won't be a bad idea. I was beating my Toyota Avalon for a few weeks while I waited on RockAuto to ship my new starter out lol
Page 11-9 in the service manual tells you what to check. I recommend checking things in the order that it suggests.
about where to get a starter: I bought a lifetime replacement starter from the auto parts store more than 5 years ago; hasn't let me down and if it does, free replacement. It may be the same brand you get on rock auto (my axles were); although I doubt the exchange process for Rock would be as easy; if at all do-able.

A quick way to test the starter.
First, make sure the key is OFF, Shifter is in PARK. I always engage the parking brake too.
On the back of the starter solenoid is a small wire that comes from the starter relay. The big one comes from the battery. Take a jumper wire from the battery + to the terminal of the small wire (you may need to disconnect the small wire). Does it crank? If not, check your battery cable (both ends). If your certain your cable is good, then your starter is bad. If it does crank, your problem lies elsewhere.
As suggested earlier, tap on your starter with a hammer (use an extension if needed). Sometimes the brushes in the motor stick or have hit a bad spot. Smacking it with a hammer (or other blunt force creator) can improve the connection. I did this with my Jeep for a week while I waited for a starter.
