Mine did that same shit... all you need is have a local shop check the voltage or whatever, and I bet its your alternater.

Check the condition of your cable from the battery to the starter. If at all corroded it will need replacing. If cable looks good then check the connection at the starter. Next would be battery.

i changed my starter and it works for like a week and then it stops working. Could this be covered in the ignition recall?

nope, it would not be covered under the ignition recall i dont htink

but i would check the alternator maybe a coil is bad in the sucker, maybe it was poorly built

check it out or take the part to autozone or kregans and have the alternator tested to see if it works

yeah, i think autozone and advanced auto parts will do a free battery/alternator test. Saved me money last week when I went and realized I just had a loose connection on one of my battery cables. Stuck a piece of metal in between the battery post and the terminal, and it tightened up around it. Saved me from buying a new starter. Definitely a different issue, but it helped deduce the problem.

I am going to say starter. If it was the alternator I would think that you would get it to crank over with the battery alone, and it would run for a short time. And I think the ignition rrecall was for the switch itself not anything under the hood. Best of luck to you! I get to go change my battery and it is snowing like an 1" an hour here and I'm parked out in it.

i bet its the ground coming from the battery to the car chassy. they are so small that if they get alittle bit corroded ur car wont have enough ground to start

check the fuses, the spark plugs... also, try to smell the engine area.. but most likely its the starter.. cause like someone said earlier, if your alternator is working the radio wont be turning on..
