CAI Void Warranty?

I was told that if i installed an AEM CAI on my 02 TL, it would void any warranty covering electrical components because you have to remove some sensor. Is this true? Is there anyway around this?

THanks,

Burt

I wouldnt think that is true because you still hook the O2 sensor to the CAI pipe so it still functions properly.

I was told that if and when it sucks up water that you have to pay that fee to cover a new engine. That's what my dealer told me today after install. So I went a bought a bi-pass valve (hope it works).

The way the Acura warranty works...it'll only be if you suck up water...so if the bypass valve fails or something like that...then you'll have to pay for the engine when it tries to compress the water in the cylinder and blows...aside from that no, nothing. I talked to my dealer and they said as much. Texas Texas YEEHAW!

If you are mechanically inclined, it should be simple to do (just follow the instructions). But if you are not (like me), better get a mod shop to do it. Would be safer that way. Good luck!

It takes 30 mins to an hour. Just make sure your engine is COLD.

The install should not be that hard. Be glad that you bought the bypass valve because it may save you a lot of $$$ in the long run. That's why I got one too.
