My parents just finalized the deal for a new TL-S in White Diamond Pearl with Parchment interior.....I wanted tints so I'm paying for them.....I'm getting 33% for the door windows and 20% for the rear window. They haven't gotten the car yet, so I should be able to change it. Do you think that's dark enough? Please, any input is greatly appreciated.

 

I have 35's on the side and 20's on the rear on my car. The 35's on the side are as dark as legal here. If I could have, I would have liked 20's on the side, but otherwise, it looks pretty good. Just my humble opinon.

i dont like the look of car that have differnt tint shades... i say do it all one percentage IMO, I went with 35% all around. Except the windsheild of course.

 

they told me because of the light interior, the tint wouldn't appear as dark as it would on a car w/ a dark interior.....damn I'm a little worried now

 

HMM good point, I would go 20% all around then. If you still can. Are they tinting it now? Or you have to take it in?

 

apparently, canadian legislature does not care what tint shade you have...so if you feel it will not be dark enough then go dark as possible (limo or 20% i believe). however, you will not be able to make anything out on poorly lit areas in the middle of the night.

I'm not a tint expert... but I think "limo" is about 5% (really dark). And I think they're telling you correctly... on a white car with a light interior... the tint looks darker, with a higher number. I have a black and a white car and I found that to be a true statement.

fahoumh did u get your car from Fairview Acura??!?! If so i saw a Cl-S there with the same tint that your might get a couple of weeks ago........ It looks fine man

 

yeah, we did get it from Fairview Acura.....what colour was the CL-S? Light interior or dark? And did it have 33% on all 4 doors and 20% on the rear window?

 

Personally, i wouldnt get a really dark tint on a light colored car. The contrast would look weird. I say go 35 all around. I have that, and its just fine. I used to have limo, and it was a pain in the ass.

I have WDP with Parchment and I went with 14% all the way around...
looks awesome IMHO....

yeah, i was there last night visiting my cuz, you might have seen my car along with a '00 red Sentra SE and a black Grand Prix GTP on Clair Creek....hey on the last post you said the CL-S had 33% on all 4 doors; that's impossible because the CL has only 2 doors.

ahh cuz i live very near Clair Creek, I live off of Leighland (im guessin u know were that it) sorry man im only 16 my has a Legend and when we took it in for reapirs Fairview Acura gave us a Tl-S and we had it for 2 weeks and it was f***** amazing
and i just goin this room a couple months ago... and my pops might get the new TL-S in 2003

And i ment on the Diver window and Passanger and the back window had 33% tint. On my dads Legend (92) he had 33% on all the windows except the front.... it look amazing but know the color is all purple cuz its soo old and in the summer its always directly into the sun the tint is comming off

they gave you a TL-S for 2 weeks? I dunno....they're really nice there, but I didn't know they were that nice.

 

Wow lotta dark tints. Calfornia law forbids the tinting of the front windows but I think I'm going to go 50% all around, semi-metallic reflective. Dark tints attract the police too much....

 

I just noticed that I was the one to originally say the CL has 4 doors......D'OH! I'm an idiot.....
