Anyone ever heard a gurgling or percolating noise from behind the lower part of the center dash caused by the A/C? I have had this several times over the past few months and have determined that it only happens with the A/C on. Running just the fan does not cause the noise. I'm taking it to the dealer again on Thursday, but am afraid the noise won't show up and they won't know what to do. The warranty expires this week too!

Any ideas??

This is a very early '99 model BTW.

 

What a perfect description... When the climate control is on it makes this noise and it sounds like the car's alive or something... The A/C still blows cold but it makes a strange noise under the cupholder area.

What is that and it doesn't happen all the time.

Also my A/C started making a weezing sound from the passenger side of the Vents... It's not on the outside by the engine it's on the inside and can be messed with by switching to and from the recycled air to outside..

It sounds like a belt or something? Help plz

 

Wow...this thread is a blast from the past! My dealership never could come up with a solution for it. However, I got rid of my POS TL a few weeks later and bought a 350Z...

 

I think i have the same 'problem', an odd 'moving' noise in the dash somewhere, whether i am stopped or not... dunno what it is but it doesn't seem to harm anything.

I am probably gonna get my a/c cleaned out (got a nice discount from the dealer to do this).. maybe that'll fix it.

The noise my 99 makes is like the sound your stomach makes when hungry....gurgle, groan, rumble.

The dealer replaced a bunch of parts in the AC system and it went away for half a year only to return after the warranty expired. The receipt says replace expansion valve, a/c mode motor, dryer. Then lists a bunch of part numbers if anyone can make use of these.

I have also just begun to hear a noise. Started about a week ago. Sounds like something clicking in the A/C vent. Doesn't happen often and it doesn't last but a few moments, but it's starting to get on my nerves.

 

Mine does it, as long as the AC still works, its all good..

 

Why would you be okay with that? I want it fixed I've never owned a car that made that the A/C makes these ****ty noises...

The gurgling from the center console or the ****ty buzzzz from the passenger side air vents... ****in' Bul**** man...

This is the nicest car I've bought and I'd rather not put up w/ this...

Hopefully someone knows and can fix it or tell me how to check something like the vents.

Take it easy dude.. i've had a bunch of cars which to some extend make noises due to the A/C .. keep in mind that there's a lot of moving parts in there.

The TL's system retains water every now and then which *can* result in some weird noises and a smell coming from the vents. Yours does seem excessive but a good cleaning of the A/C system ($125 at Acura dealership, or with the latest coupon, $99.99) will fix it for a while.

Again, most of the cars that i have owned in this price class or a little higher up have done this stuff, even the top-of-the-line Jag of my boss does it.

Whoa man, chill out. It only makes the noise some of the time, and when it isnt "gurgling" i forget about it, and i got cooollddd AC so im not stressin yet..but damn..

 

Mine sounds like a weedwacker hitting paper and I can manipulate it by pressing the recycle button on and off...

It's gotten worse.... It went from a high pitch buzzzz to a deep vibration.

Don't know but I'll let yall know what happens.

The gurgling I can live with even though it's really weird like a living car.

But the buzz from the passenger side air vents... Argggh it's more than just a little annoying. and I think the air is coming out less than full and it's still cold though but just less pressure.

Weird... Can I pull something out without damaging anything.

I don't want to dissasemble my whole dash but, if there's an easy way to check something plz let me know.

 

Oh Great now my A/C instead of buzzzing it now has a deep vibrating sound and the air doesn't come out hard at all anymore.

any thoughts.. the air is cold but doesn't have 1/2 the pressure it should have and it's loud and vibrating?

 

I think every one and their grandmothers tl's ac makes the gurgling noise... it really gets to be annoying
