Brakes and Acuras Ceramic?

I was curious what do people think about Ceramic brakes on a 03 Acura? I heard different stories that they make noise, hesitate. What is the best thing to do. Use stock pads? Have Acura do the brakes?

I think OEM pads are ceramic.
My oppinion that stock pads suck given how much they cost.
I got Akebono Ceramic pads and very happy with tthem, I had them more than a year, they are great.

Ceramic pads are perfect replacement for OEM pads.
But if you are looking for performance, then you should look into Axxis and Hawk.

ceramic pads quiet and very low dust.

From now on I am only buying Akebono....

I heard that the Axxis weren't all that good
I "think" that the Acura OEM's are ceramic.

I just put on the Rotora slotted and Rotora H2 Ceramic pads a few hours ago... haven't even bed the in yet, I'll wait until early morning for that.

There's still a group buy on this going on if you're interested.

If you can follow instructions to any degree you should be able to do the brakes and rotors yourself. After doing the first side, the second will be a piece of cake

the axxis are great performance wise, but they squeak and give off above normal brake dust, the akebonos didnt have the stopping power the axxis did so i'm sticking with the axxis

No question that other performance pads give you better stopping power than Akebono.
Akebono typically makes OEM like products, to match OEM specifications. So if you just looking for a replacement that is like OEM, akebono is perfect.
But for performance you need something else, semi-mettalic brakes will give you much better bite and stoping power.... but you know the bigest problem of semi-metallic pads that they make noise, dust, and destroy your rotors a lot faster than ceramic pads....
So you just have to make a decision on what is more important for you: performance vs. long life.

The axxis were teh worst performing pads ive driven. The stock pads did better braking when super hot than the axxis did.
