Question Better sound? AEM or Weapon R

I am looking to buy an intake and just wanted your opinions. Which growls more: AEM SR, Weapon R SR, or AEM CAI????
Oh, and when does the growl occur: Hi or low RPM???
Thanks

I think I would be more worried about which produces more HP. From my experience they pretty much all sound the same. Heck if you drop your resonator, it will sound the same as just about any aftermarket intake.

no it won't sound like any aftermarket intake after you drop your resonator. I did that before i installed my AEM short ram and it only sounded a tiny bit louder. After AEM and when you punch it... GROWL!!!!! it sounds like a V8 race car now!!!

The consensus is that the CAI makes a deeper rumble(due to the filter being located on the inside of the fender well) while the short ram is more of a higher pitched tone to me.

When I took off my bumper and looked at where the resonator was, it was all dirty. This is the place where the CAI would go... is it just me or do you all run your CAIs in dirt? Or maybe its just because I live in a rainy/shitty place and shouldn't run a CAI?

In my experiences, the CAI seems to be a bit quieter since the filter is farther away from the driver and burried in front of wheel well while the short ram seems to be bit harsher/louder since the filter is much closer to where the driver sits.

At least this is my perspective from being INSIDE the vehicle.

I have had both, the Weapon R and now I have the AEM CAI. I am very glad i changed from the Weapon R. The sound is much better...deeper and more growl. The Weapon-R is second class compared to the AEM CAI. Please dont get pissed at me all you Weapon-R people, its just my opinion and I think I am one of the few on this board that have had both intakes.
