It depends on what you got from Sears.. The battery may be a different group size in order to get enough cold cranking amps for the car or if you got a universal fit (both top and side posts) it could be smaller than the O.E which I believe was a 24 or a 24F. The main thing is to have enough CCA for the car although if you have a stereo or other high load items you might want to go with an optima (you would be suprised the difference it makes in the sound of a stock stereo).

Optima red or yellow? I've heard the yellow recommended for aftermarket stereo systems requiring a lot of power, but how could it affect the stock Bose system?

The battery is able to supply the stereo (stock or aftermarket) with additional "reserve" power when it is needed and the cars electrical system is unable to produce at that time. The battery, due to its design, is able to fill in the needed power so that the base/speakers can draw the maximum current needed. So for example when the volumn is up on a song with a lot of base the battery kicks in with a little extra juice to let it hit at its best. Sorry if that is a little confusing, but it's the best my tired ass mind can do right now. Let me know if you need more clarification -- I'll try to think of something different.

Fine, but the last time I was at Sears Auto they had several different battery group sizes in their Gold level of battery and some were the universal fit. I didn't know which group you had purchased.

My Battery is Smaller

I bought a Costco battery with the stock specs and it was a little smaller. It fit in and I trimmed the stock plastic cover so it would fit. I wouldn't worry.
