Avic-f90bt

I just ordered one of these and was getting ready to put it in as soon as my bracket gets here, I opened up to read the instructions and it says I have to hook up a wire to the "Car Speed Signal Input" any idea of the location/color of this wire??

im no expert, but that might be the cable that doesn't let video play while the car is moving*. i think you just need to ground it in order to trick it into thinking ur "parked". now you can watch movies while driving**

*i could be horribly wrong
**this is for your passengers, please don't watch a movie while your driving

I just had this istall in my car also. it is a great system. if it is the pink wire you are talking about it then what it does is when you go into a tunnel and lose gps signal it calulates your speed and compensate for no gps signal. i would install that as it makes the gps more accurate. as to where it goes i believe it is somewhere under where the gas pedal is but im not 100% sure. if you want to bypass it then you need to ground the parking break and do a software bypass or change a couple of wires to do a hardwire bypass. go to avic411.com

good luck on the install hope that helps you.

I have AVIC-F700BT and dash kit from uncald4 as well
People are bitching about AVICs but I love it, make sure you go to avic411.com to learn how to do some hacking to your unit to make it more friendly

fyi I have the 900BT and you don't need this wire connected for the unit to function. It does help the unit keep on track when signal is lost, but it isn't required.

+1 million avic411.com. I run an F900BT with X910 software, on top of that I have Diaftia's mods done. Awesome.

That'll be great...besides the dash kit this is the only other thing stopping me from hooking mine up.

Its the speed senesor wire and you can splice into the blue and white wire coming from the ecu or there is a blue and white wire coming off the cruise control...if you look right above the gas pedal theres a black box with a plug, splice into the b/w wire and you should be good.

I'm reading trying to find that reverse wire thing...do I really need to hook that up? according to pioneer...it says "
This is connected so that the navigation system can detect
whether the vehicle is moving forwards or backwards.
Connect the violet/white lead to the lead whose voltage
changes when the shift lever is put in reverse. Unless
connected, the sensor may not detect your vehicle
travelling forward/backward properly, and thus the position
of your vehicle detected by the sensor may be misaligned
from the actual position.

Note:
When you use a rear view camera, please make
sure to connect this lead. Otherwise you cannot
switch to rear view camera picture.
