Exclamation Thinking About Getting a Double DIN Radio?

Let me help you decide on which dash kit to buy.

I purchased an AVIC-F90BT awhile ago. I though I'd save some money and get a dash kit from eBay. After all, it's all the same, right? Well, I purchased mine from audioin-puts. First of all, it took him over a week to ship it out. I finally get it, open the box, and I do a quick once over. It's absolute garbage. It's not smooth at all. The paint is blotchy (sp?) and best of all, it won't even fit my radio. He made the opening too large! Even though he told me it would work with my headunit. Here's some pictures of this awesome product:

My camera can't truely capture all of the inconsistencies in the finish of the kit, but hopefully enough to see what I am talking about.

I urge everyone who is about to purchase a double din radio to think twice about buying the kit from eBay. I just sent my payment to uncald4 for the kit. I will post pictures of that once I recieve it. I ended up spending damn near double the price to get my dash kit. Save some money, and contact uncald4. Don't go through the bullshit I went through.

Best of all, audioin-puts from eBay won't even return my emails.

I have not seen a single kit from ebay that looked "good". Some buyers may get lucky and get something close to "acceptable". Why take the chance?

I'm an Advanced MECP Certified installer with over 10 years of professional experience. I guarantee all my work. I've been with AcuraZine for years. And I promise never to ship anyone a shit sandwich like the one pictured above. Best of all... I don't have a pile of kits sitting on a shelf. I fabricate every kit when ordered. Each kit is built for your radio and your car.

If anyone has questions about installing a double din into their 2nd Gen TL or CL please feel free to contact me, even if you decide to spend your money elsewhere I'm still here to help.

Word.

why dont you leave him a neutral feedback..since you got the item but arnt happy with the quality of the item...dont have to worry bout getting negative feed backs from sellers since as i recall EBAY no longer allows sellers to give negative's only positive or neutral i think

Good story. Please read.

I'm still getting tons of calls and email about this jacked up kit from ebay. Spend the extra 2 dollars and buy a good kit from a reputable AZ vendor.

I had a guy call me a month or so ago. He didn't speak Engrish very well. He explained that he owned a car audio shop in Florida and was interested in buying 10 of my kits for his customers. However, he wanted me to send him one for free so that he could verify the quality. I told him that I didn't have time for that. When I got off the phone I Googled the name of his shop and turned up nothing.

A couple weeks went by and I received an order from a non-AZ member in Florida. I made the kit and sent it out. The very next week those shitty double din kits showed up on ebay again. This time with better pics. The kit in the pics are of my kit. It looks great and fits perfect. Even painted and textured to match the OEM dash. But this is not the kit that they are sending to buyers.

wow, what a piece of shit. Unfortunately, a lot of people are going to get screwed because they think they're getting your kit.

wow! Again, some people are just douchebags, sheesh.

You should take that as a compliment that they're using a picture of your kit. Maybe send a message to eBay regarding the user that's using pics of your kit, since they did so without consent, or rather that they're falsely advertising a kit that's only made to order.

You're right that is a compliment. ebay says that since dude bought the kit from me he owns it and can do what he wants with it. Dumb. Whatever....

I was on a job yesterday installing Bluetooth kits into a fleet of service trucks. They have a shop dog named KARMA. It occurred to me after hearing them holler her name over and over.... KARMA is a BITCH. True story, in many ways.
