Automatically unlock all doors?

Asking the question for my gf... using the key fob, can I unlock all the doors with a single push? On the 3rd gen, you can actually program it to either unlock only driver door after 1 push (second push again to unlock all), or unlock all.

Is there a way to program the 2nd gen TL as well?

No, you have to double click the unlock button to unlock all doors on 2nd gens factory security systems.

The only way for you to do that is to get an aftermarket alarm system.

what if ur girlfriend is being chased by a thief and she is running to her car. When she hits it once, do u want all the doors to open? I think u might just want the driver side to open. This is a safety feature built in the factory alarm.

lol...
BUT what if the gf is running from the thief from the opposite direction? she hits the button once, and isnt able to get around to the other side of the car in time
lol, not saying that that will happen, but just a thought to chew on..
i, however, agree that the 2 button-click system is much better

It's definitely a safety thing. Being able to open 1 door as opposed to all of them. My Clifford opens them all, not that I mind either way.

If that's the case...the GF would either be dead or kidnapped already. The 2 click feature is to prevent from someone hiding on the other side of the car while you approach it from the driver's side.

Like Edgalang said, your gf is doomed even if she managed to get inside the passenger side of the car. The thief would simply smashed the window (spraying your gf with broken glasses) and grabbed her out of the car.

But on the other hand, if she got inside the driver side of the car, she could drive the car away from more danger.
