Who has a OPTIMA BATTERY on their car? What is so special about them? How much do they cost compared to regular batteries?

5 years? Wow that's a long time... usually, how many years can the OEM battery last before it goes dead? And just exactly how much more expensive are the Optima Batteries compared to regular ones?

Optima Yellow Top = ~$150
Generic Walmart = ~$35

Is it worth it? Up to you. BTW...My OEM lasted me 3 years.

Hey there,

Where did you get that blue cover on the engine. I have to be honest and say I don't know the exact name of it.

That's the same engine cover that you have. I just took it off and painted it.

The engine cover is the one that comes with the car. He has just taken it off and painted it ?light blue? I would have matched it to the body or do what I have done, just paint it black with flat black barb-q paint. It always looks clean. Got sick of that light gray look that builds up on all of the black plastic.

The color of the can was much darker and I wanted to give it a chance to dry before making any further decisions. Lets just say I became lazy and kept it as it is.

BTW...this was before...

And this was after...

Blue top is a marine battery. Why would you use that in the car?

Red top is good for just OEM replacement, should outlast the OEM battery, but the price is so high it might not justify the price.

Yellow Top is ususally what everyone gets if they have a system. The price is then justify in this case.

Blue & Yellow is exactly the same except that blue has 2 extra nodes that you can tie accesories to. (don't quote me on that one though)

I've used a red top in my Jeep for years. They're great for 4-wheel drives when you've out on rough trails. I also used one on my Allante because the battery was inside the driver’s compartment. The gel type batteries don't put off fumes. I don't think I would put one in my Acura (I have a CL).

If I was, I would buy it at Costco. They're down to like $100.
