Anyone have a DIY shift knob changer

I'm having trouble with changing my 2000 acura tl knob, it won't come off I'm just wondering if some of y'all know bc I know a few ppl who has a changed there's. And if it's possible to take off the original knob and install a new knob with the boot to make it look like a manual car. I think I've seen a few ppl with the manual boot for there Tl's but please leave feedback thanks

Just twist it counterclockwise until it comes off.
Check out the DIY section for some great stuff.

I've tried twisting it counter clockwise and it won't budge, I've had a buddy who's a lot bigger than me try it and he couldn't get it off either

Well then I suggest leaving it alone, wouldn't want to end up without a shifter.
If it were me I'd use vise grip to get leverage but it will damage the knob.

Yeah very understandable I wanna change it to a better looking knob but if I can't then I'll leave it

Find an even bigger friend It's just threaded on. It can be really hard to break free but it will.

I had this exact problem. All you need is a rag or some kind of cloth and channel lock pliers, idk exactly what size but any large pliers should do.All you need to do is you put the rag over the knob and with the pliers grip it from the bottom and twist supper hard counter clock wise and bam it should come off.

Super easy to do, looks & works great with the chrome shift gate mod for 99's, gives it a Ferrari look, and its just a Mr. Gasket chrome knob found at every parts store, came with adapters and etc,. I love it, some likely loathe it lol
