i installed my aem cai and its making that sheeeeeee~~ sound when i turn on the engine and it stays like that untill it warms up and it kinda goes away(but not all the wya) and when i turn the engine off man that sucker makes a loud puusssshhhheeeeee sound. im wondering if anyone else ever had this problem..... please leave a quote if u know how to fix it or its not fixable. that sound juss annoys the shit outta me and it kells the luxuryness in my tl-s

you gotta be kidding me! no one buys a CAI for luxury, it's all about the riceness/performance. You cant have BOTH! BTW, dont worry about the sound. it's not a problem, its doing its job! its the sound of all that air being sucked in!

you'll grow to love it! specially when you're on the hwy in VTEC range ..... ahhhhhhh(music to my ears) .......

Hey don't worry about it. I have AEM v2 in my TL and when I start the car, it has this humming sound to it. At first I didn't like it but I got use to it after a while. When I turn the car off, you can hear like the intake is sucking all the in or so...

 

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Don't get a CAI if you don't like the sound. A CAI is suppose to be loud. It is sucking fresh cold air in. When you shut if down thats all the air releasing pressure. It is such a wonderful sound I don't know why you would want to lose it.

There is one way to make a AEM more quiet. Make sure you have the Bypass Valve on. I know that most people put it on here anyway. I prefered not to. Another way to fix the sound is to remove the CAI and put back your stock air box.

 

I LOVE the sound my CAI gives.... It is badass... and it scares the shit out of some people on the side of the road when I floor it. My dad had an 00 Maxima with an Injen, and his didn't make hardly any noise at all. Thank god for VTEC and AEM!! Wouldn't have it any other way!

 

Just like what everybody is telling, it's the air. All TL-S do it. Mine does the same thing and with the a/c on it's even louder but i love the sound especially when i turn my car off around people and they ask me what do you have in your car when they here the noise.

 

welcome to the world of modified cars. Intakes make noise. Injen is a little quieter at idle, but louder down low and up top once you get on it.

 

 

if you hate the noise, you shoudl've bought icebox.... no extra noise... sounds stock
