Yup, the Niagara meet has some good pics on the 6000K vs. 4200K comparison.

Sup Mark, where've you been bro? Like Paul said, I have D2S on my 99 TL and it makes a world of difference.

Here is my D2S:

Here is the OEM:

And here is a comparison pic: 4200k vs. 6000k

Remember, you need to do a little modification if you get the D2S. Or you can get the D2R and it is a perfect fit but not as bright as the D2S but still brighter than the OEM.

BTW, try to make it to the next meet (whenever it is) and you can compare it in person.

it pains to me see all of you thinking 6000k bulbs are brighter than stock 4100k bulbs. stop propagating lies!

if you buy the 6000k strictly to be "different", that's fine. but the ignorance is killing me. it's not brighter. it only appears brighter because reflective paint show up a little better w/ whiter/blue light. and blue/white light is refracted more easily/readily by particles in the air due to the shorter wavelength. drive in rainy weather and i can guarantee you that you see much more w/ 4100k than 6000k. the 6000k is only for the "look cool" factor. any photometric lab measurement will show you that 6000k bulbs are ~25% dimmer than their 4100k counterparts.

i'm just trying to share some knowledge here, not trying to flame.

I have a gen one 3.2 they have a fog light that can be converted to a projector.. think it might be a decent idea to put 6000k in the headlight and use 4100k as a type of highbeam in the fogs?

I bought mine at www.autolamps-online.com for $290 (free shipping). But talk to Paul (songuku) cause he knows a guy in taiwan that sells it for cheaper.

Most informed and experienced HID people are in the Philips forum here. They'll most likely find you the best prices too.

Just seems like a lot of money to spend for something that doesnt really suck in the first place.

I know exactly how you feel because I felt the same way before I bought my 6000k. After I saw it in person, I changed my mind real quick! The pics don't do justice. You have to see it in person to really see the difference. Then it will be the best $230-$300 you'll ever spend.:p

nah, they never say it's a "waste of money". but i do know quite a number of people switching back to stock 4100k after 6-12 months because they're tired of the fad and want to see better at night. just end up selling the 6000K used.

I still love my 6000k every time I turn on my headlights. It's actually an external mod that you can see and enjoy everytime you use it. Other motorists can also enjoy the blinding glare of my HIDs.... Don't get me wrong, my beam pattern and height are DOT spec
