Yep i wont. Im not sure what the CL-S 6 uses to control the radiator fans. the autos use a actual control unit and the manual motor doesnt have that. I need to do some good reading of the manual to figure it out. That and what keeps draining my optima battery dead in 2 days time

So im trying to replace the passengers sideengine compartment to dash harness and its a biotch. I may have to dump the 134 and take out the heater blower ect just to gt it out Any one know some one with a magic wand to wave it for me and have the wiring harness replaced

Why not?? WHY??? its nothing special for a motor. Its a type s motor and 6 speed trans. it will be most likely putting down what the CL-S is with the manual.

Well new sensor and harnes redo today and NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!!!! havent brought it for a test drive cause i cant. My road is completly torn up and there is a mountain of dirt infront of it! It does run better. Now i need to see if the rad fan comes on. i let it idle for like 10 min but nothing. The temp needle went up to normal spot but neer went higher?? I want to get a actual temp gauge on to see

come up with a figure, i'll send you my 02 abp tl-s, all i got is the 6 spd tranny, so far, and an overwhelming sense that i cant do it myself.

Ok little update. Finally got home and took it for a drive, and after about 5 min the cel came back on. It still wont rev past 5k. Would a O2 sensor cause that? I need to make a appt to get it in to have teh codes read. (man i need to get a good reader)

No, I don't believe an error with the o2 sensor would stop the car from reving to a certain rpm.

its like when your at park and it doesnt rev pass 5000-5500rpm .. when you floor it

Humm. i just replaced the other crank sensor. those were the only codes showing up. I guess ill have to get it tested to see. I dont know what else it would be.

Is there a sensor from the auto tranny leftover thats setting off the rev limiter thinking its in park?

Nope. Its a all new ECU and Engine harness for the Manual tranny.

last time it was in for reading the codes there wasnt any other code other than the one i replaced and a O2 sensor which i didnt replace

When it gets to 5000-5500, does it cut out like red line? Have you verified that the RPM gauge is reading correctly at higher RPMs?

Hmmm - VTEC engagement is now at 4800 for you... When in Park, an auto Type S will not enter VTEC range (I know you addressed this earlier on this page). Perhaps something to do with VTEC?

My wife's 2000 BMW 528i had a faulty O2 sensor which caused a similar problem. The engine wouldn't rev past a certain point and the car was severely "de-powered." We replaced the sensor and it was fine.

Yes its like redline (but a soft limiter-not as fast) i didnt have a code for any thing vtec related before. Im hoping its the O2 sensor causing it Guess ill find out as soon as i can get teh car out of the driveway (road work)

It is the O2 sensor.. I had the same problem in my Camry
Change the O2 sensor and u r good 2 go! (make sure u do NOT get an aftermarket sensor though)

Yep really close. Its been on a few maiden voyages around town. Drives great. like it was ment to be, just workin out a few lil bugs.

Look into your cam sensor. I think from following this thread that you have the auto transmission motor which has different sensors. I've done a little check with the online oem part sites, and as far as I can tell, there may be two different sensors, one for the automatic and one for the six speed. I beleive the six speed needs two sensors while the auto needs one and they are completely different part numbers. the 6 speed part number is 37840-PGE-A11 and you need 2 of them, the auto number is 37840-P8A-A01. if that's the case, you'll also need the timing gear for the front head.

hey kris remember when i got my car back from the tranny shop it wouldnt let me rev over 3500 RPM.....what felt like the rev limiter would kick in at 3500 RPM and i replaced the VTEC Solenoid and it solved the problem.....im not sure if it is the same problem that your having but try checking the solenoid maybe???.....good luck cant wait to see it all done

I've actually had a very similar problem happen on my 6MT TSX a while back. I don't know how related this can be to your issue but I might as well let you know.

Apparently a rodent went inside my engine bay and chewed out the wiring harness. This left a whole bunch of problems for my car, mainly the speedometer didn't work. I know the TSX for one has a rev limiter set around 4500 I believe. So when I'm not moving (ie Speedo is at 0mph) I can't rev past 4500. And yeah it's not like I hit the hard limiter, it just goes to 4500 and drops down softly.

I assumed that the ECU just thought my car was not moving so it set the limiter. I don't know if that might be an issue for you, but I guess you can check if all the electronics are reading properly. Is there a way to check if your ECU is in fact reading a speed even though your speedometer is getting something?

I hope this info might be of some help. Anyway, mad props on your conversion... it's late so I couldn't read through all 30 pages but I'll be sure to re-read your progress.

I already replaced teh 2 camsensors. i replaced teh 500 dollar crank sensor, replaced teh timing belt pulley which is also different for the crank sensor. Replaced the crank sensor "b" also.

all the harnesses are brand new. so i dont think any thing is wrong there. I need to get teh code read this week to see what teh cel light is for, and try to address it from there

kris, when i convert my integra to a 5sp i have to splice and connect wires from the shifter connection plug from your auto to set it D. i think the reason you car not reving over 5k because is still showing park on your ecu. hope that is the prob.
