Exclamation 06 Oddy tranny

Hey guys I know some of you read my thread about my TL tranny going out after 270K finally. I've been weighing options and I found an 06 Oddy tranny at LKQ nearby for $500. It's got 125K on it but I'm not scared of that. I need some intel from people with this tranny in their TL. Does it work? Is it harder to swap than the Accord? Is this there a change in gearing or gas mileage? Anything to watch out for on the swap? I plan to do this swap with some friends and I've been a bit confused at a few things from our AV6 thread that's out there. I don't understand how to delete the power steering hookup. I haven't been doing alot of snooping around the tranny so maybe it's easy and I'm asking a dumb question but any help would be very greatly appreciated. I need feedback though and any thoughts anyone has. You guys are great and I'm really counting on you here.

Maybe someone that has done this swap can help you better but from what I've read the 2 power steering hoses have to be looped and there's some modification needed to make the oddy tranny fit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Once the trans is out you will see there are 2 lines that come off the PS Rack that connect to the trans. Those 2 lines need to be looped together because the new trans wont have the spot for the variable assist that the tl trans has. Your steering will work just fine, it will just be a little more weighted (the 02-03 tl-s doesnt have it either) and better feeling

Well I'm expecting it to be weighted. So to loop it do I just need to remove the fittings that are on it and find something that will connect them or can they just plug into each other?

you will see when you disconnect everything. There are 2 hoses coming off the PS rack that go to the trans. Take one of them off and loop the other to the one you took off. You will need a small hose clamp to tighten it good. One is larger than the other but it still works.

Ok that answers my question perfectly. Any other odds and ends you know of that'll be needed for the swap? I'm thinking of doing a DIY thread for it when I do this since there isn't one out there

Remember the drilling and tapping that was mentioned.

I'd heard that wasn't needed with the Odyssey transmission
