The Modding Begins

Hey everyone! I've been on this site for over 8 years. It started with my CL

I picked up a 2007 RL in September. I bought Juans aka ~x~'s Mugen kit/spoiler/visors, Tein Coilovers with edfc, and shift knob. Here are some pics I took today. The weather around here sucks lately. I'll change part of the exhaust after the snow season. I spoke to a vendor in Japan about a used set of Legend headlights I'm saving up for.

Similar to the Work wheels on my old CL, I'm most likely buying Leon Hardiritt Ordens.

Happy Holidays

I guess I'll have to see the wheels on the car. Any plans to trim the EDFC controller? Fiberglass should be easy.

Thanks! I haven't thought about trimming the controller yet but fiberglass is a great recommendation.

I think the Orden style of wheel looks great on any car. But I am still considering TSW Sochis and Juan's Vossens

Looking good so far. I would be willing to bet you about a billion dollars those wheels won't even come close to clearing the front brake calipers. I think they'd look great on the RL but I don't think they would be worth the hassle of all the spacers and fender work you'll need to make them fit.

Thanks! I was looking for this color combo with low mileage for a few years now. I was planning on buying all these parts brand new this upcoming Spring. But I was lucky enough to get it used at a good price. I mean what are the odds of that: finding a used Mugen kit local? I have a better chance getting struck by lightning.

This car quickly became a head turner. I wanted to take pictures to show you guys before I raise it to stock height for the season.

Dude your RL is nice! I have the same color and I was looking into getting the same kit put in mine so it's nice to see exactly what it would look like. Keep it up man love the look.

Car looks amazing. This color combo is the best IMO and white really makes the mugen kit look great. Looking forward to seeing what wheels you go with.

I wish we all had the JDM headlights. The vendor I contacted has one set and I can't afford them yet. If I somehow decide not to get them I'll pass on his info.

I am going to purchase them from a JDM distributor that is an hour drive for me. I plan to stop by to take measurements and figure out the best fitment for my needs. I don't want to go too aggressive because it is my DD. I was quoted $4400 for 20" and up to a 14 week wait time. I don't have that money now, I just blew it on the mods I installed. The design of the Ordens is perfect for my RL though. Again, they will look just like my old set of Works...

If you have any ideas on another set that will keep my RL classy please let me know. I'm a sucker for 5 stars.

Besides the aerokit, my favorite mod is the wood steering wheel. I spent days looking at pics of Touges Mugen spoiler and I could not make a decision until I saw the spoiler in person. I was never a fan of window visors but when I saw -x-'s in person with the body kit I decided to buy that too.

Below is a great comparison for before and after. Next week I'm raising the suspension as high as it goes until the snow season is over.

Are you saying the RL doesn't look good with multipiece wheels?

No. I just don't care for the look of rivets or bolts (or whatever their term is).

To each their own, and by no means should you listen to me when you buy wheels for your car.

I hear you. I'm honestly not sure what I will end up with. If I find a used set that I like at a good price I might jump on it to save money. I have plenty of time to decide.

Your avatar makes me feel uncomfortable lol
I see about 20 fakes for every 1 set of real multipiece around me. And it's always a certain demographic with the fake ones.

RonJon Inspyre's

Ron sent me pictures of what his new Inspyre type 2 wheels would look like on an RL. It is a nice simple design. I owned the original Inspyres that I had on my CL but now I am looking for something more luxury.

There is a picture on his site of a white RL with them. They discontinued the 5x120 , so you have to have them re-drilled.

He just released a "type 2" version of the inspyres. 20x9 +42 offset. The good news is with the offset you don't need to roll the fenders at all. Im waiting for him to send me a pic with the raven black w/ machine face version but I think I like the original insypres better.

OIC. I was thinking the Type I. I like those better because of the flare at the base of the spoke.
