Clean, classy and simple...fuck yes. Nicely done, man...
sub'd for future updates.

Oh, and in my humble opinion...don't be lazy/cheap with the rotors...you'll regret it down the line if you aren't in love with the red. For me, red and navy blue went out when I did them on my 1997 accord...now when I see those particular colors I cringe.

Personally, I'd go with teal...I love the mu teal and run the actual mu lugs with a spray painted caliper (color is called satin lagoon from home depot) and it's a very close match. Check out mine or ebelp thread for more pictures (he actually has a white TL)...

Can't go wrong with the teal...also, if you've not considered it...you can achieve crazy good finish with spray paint...just order some rotora decals to apply before you clear them...and then you aren't locked into a color forever.

Thanks for the compliments. There were a few on this site that came before me, I'm just choosing the modifications I like best. When you mentioned certain colors went out 20 years ago, IMHO it is painted stock calipers that look cheesy (not including black or silver). When it comes to BBK anything is fair game. I'm going to get a quote from my local powder coating shop to make a decision.

I say gold calipers. Keeps the car looking elegant and classy.

The project my blue is nice also, but seems more sporty than classy. I guess it depends what look you're going after

now...does this add any clearance under...meaning you'll be shaving your oem fenders off to fit some crazy wheels? Or is this just an aesthetic add on?

It will be for aesthetics only. Technically I could cut up the fenders to add more space but I'm not going that route. At some point in the far future I will sell them.
Paint and installation will come this Spring.

The Flares, I sent him from Japan.... He must have moved on to the GS450 project he was speaking of?

The fact is, you have the ONLY M1 clone in the States........

Actually he is going wide body with his RL so he sold me the flares. Feels good to be so exclusive! I never imagined I would mod this much. Any chance you can find me M1 emblems?

New parts include Rotora front and rear big brake conversion and Mugen M1 flares. Although I can't afford it now, I chose my next set of wheels. They are high end 3 piece and I might get gold hardware. I'm waiting to get that before I powdercoat my calipers the same exact color. One of these days I will take pictures out of my driveway

My RL has come a long way since I started this thread!

Thank you, I love it too. It must be the way our taillights look in the shade because they aren't tinted. You should buy my friends JDM headlights: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-par...oodies-945222/

I don't have any plans for my RL for the upcoming year. I need new drl's and to sell the wrong Takeda intake I purchased. With the airbag recall, I rarely drive it now since I have another vehicle. I took a few recent photos with my Nikkon.

Truth be told I don't go to car shows and my friends are not into cars anymore. This is one of the only places I can show off what I did to like-minded people. I did bring it to a local show a few weeks ago and won top import but I wasn't surprised because most of the turn out was old classics.

MSW, love your ride man. I'm kind of the same where all of my friends either don't mod or the new group of friends just don't care. Kind of sucks. If you ever decide to sell your ride, gotta let me know. Here's my black a-spec. She's been sitting parked for a month so I had to go do a quick wash, then for some dumb reason I drove it in a dirty park before snapping this shot.

She needs a detail and new front bumper paint. The chrome accents are also starting to get a bit worn.

My fault for completely missing your post from MONTHS ago. I've been having problems viewing this site on my cell phone lately. You have a beautiful a-spec model. It looks spotless from here.

I have a few more updated pics to share. Nothing new added to the car this summer besides rebadging my trunk. I'm still searching for the M1 fog light bezels in Japan.

I had a friend offer to buy it minus the wheels and brakes and some other parts. After thinking about it for days I realized I can't find anything I can afford to replace it. 10 years old and still sexy.

Thank you, I highly appreciate that. I have a few plans for this upcoming season including test fitting a set of Work wheels tomorrow to make sure they clear my BBK. I want a square setup but I keep finding great deals on staggered. One day I'll have the same width on all four wheels.

Unfortunately the O-Disk will not clear my calipers. These wheels would have looked amazing on my RL but I'm not interested in installing spacers.
Wheels still for sale: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-par...-5x120-955223/
