Just received and installed the 4.55 NAvi Update. Since going from the original DVD in an 2005 model, having some of the updates are nice, like having the selection to display Traffic Incidents as a menu choice.

However, since installing it I have received intermittent problems with my XM display. When I turn on XM, the station title will display (say Deep Tracks) but all information under that will say loading. It will load for 30-60 seconds. Sometimes it will then display the song and artist info. Sometimes it will just revert to the preview channel. Sometimes when it does show the artist and song info, if I change channels it will then revert to laoding and then go to Preview Channel.

Never had this problem until I loaded the 4.55A disc. Has anyone else seen similar behavior in their XM radio lately - hoping to make sure not just a coincidence - either with or without loading the new disc.

If you have loaded the new disc, have you had any similar problems with XM?

Wondering if a refresh would help. Anyway, I will give it some time and if it keeps up will report it to Acura, XM and Alpine. Thanks for any thoguhts.

 

Good info - keep us informed. Not sure what version I have but it was 20050314 (Marh 14, 2005/) date.

 

Will do. Called Acura Customer Services. Pretty usless as usual. The people on the hone sound like they really hate being there. The solution was to take it to dealership - I said my dealership is pretty bad from a tech standpoint. They said oh well, nothing we can do except report it. Guess it would be a new issue as the disc just came out. Wondering if it's a problem because I waited a year to upgrade? Anyway, I am due for an oil change soon so I see what the dealership will do with it.

Nothing to do with the new version NAV DVD, but I did have some problems with my XM radio a couple of weeks ago. The fix was new radio. Your problem could be coincidental to the new NAV DVD install...

 

Thanks Treblig. So it was the actual radio head unit and not the control unit? That is kind of weird. Working now without probem?

 

Yep, in my case it turned out to be the Radio. All is well now in XM Radio Land I just thought I would share this with you because in hindsight, my radio was slowly telling me that something was going wrong. It wasn't until the constant need for refreshing the signal that it became obvious. However, I'll keep your situation in mind as I just received my new V 4.55 Navi Disc.

 

Where did you order the 4.55 Navi upgrade ? I have a 2005 RL - thanks.
