Dash dimmer contol not working

I'm unable to change the brightness of the dash lights with the + and - buttons. The brightness scale will not come up, it's like the buttons are not connected. Is there a fuse in this system? any help is greatly appreciated.

Try this, and maybe it will work. If not, sounds like time for the dealer.

Is your remote linked? Does it say Welcome Driver 1 or Driver 2, when you turn on the ignition to accessory? Does that number coincide with the number on the remote?

If not, link it.

When linked, it should work this way:

PANEL BRIGHTNESS
Adjust the brightness of the
instrument panel by pressing the +
or - button. Press the + button to
increase the brightness and the -
button to decrease it. You can adjust
the brightness with the headlight
switch on or off.

The level of brightness is shown on
the multi-information display while
you adjust it. It goes out 5 seconds
after you finish adjusting.

To reduce glare at night, the
instrument panel illumination dims
when you turn the light switch to parking lights
or headlights. To cancel the glare
reduction function, set the
brightness to the highest level, then
press the + button. You will hear a
beep when it is canceled.

You have the "Max Illumination" button depressed. Turn it off.

I guess I'm not familiar with that function, where is it controled from. It does not seem to be on the brightest setting though, it is at the last setting I had it at, which was about 25% if I remember right. The buttons are not even lit, so I'm thinking there is no power to them. I just had the radio disconnected, could that be a cause?

My experience is limited to the TL. That has a button for Max Illumination that, when pressed, over-rides the dimmer. It is in the same area.

Sounds like it could be associated with your issue if the control does not work IAW the OM directions posted earlier. Most everyone has a functional radio. The headunit is deeply integrated with many items.

Why did you disconnect it? So you have no radio now? What about nav, XM, rear camera, etc.

I'm trying to get a working cd player, i had a replacement from a salvage yard, but it didn't work, so I took it back out and put mine back in. The car is all back together now, I just recieved another cd player to try so I will trouble shoot a little.

I guess I do not understand. The 6 disc player in the head unit does not work?

Why do you need another cd player in addition to what you have?

I had to replace the one I had, I did that tonight. It's nice to have a cd player again.

I'm still in the same spot, both buttons to increase or decrease the dash brightness are not working. They give no response at all. Any help would be appreciated.
