Back up sensors?

I can't find it documented anywhere but when I put my 2006 RL base in reverse I hear a beep and if anything moves in behind me (like another car) the beeps increase in frequency.

Does this car have back up radar? If so, is it documented anywhere?

Seriously? Doesn't everyone's car beep when you first put it in reverse? And, have you ever heard a series of fact beeps?

No, it must have been installed on your vehicle. I believe acura has it as an option/accessory or its aftermarket

Yes. I too get a beep every time I go into 'R'. Most of the time it's just one beep but sometimes it is a constant beep, like a UPS truck in reverse lol, hate that. Don't know why it does it.

Have you tried looking to see if there are 4 sensors mounted on the rear bumper? May we assume that you know what the sensors look like?

It should not operate continuously. I finally found documentation!

Now that I know how it works I'm happy I have it. (Still going to install a camera though)

So you found the 4 sensors on the back bumper?

Yes. I have the factory installed one and it works as advertised. I like it.

Sorry to resuscitate this old thread, but I have this problem in my 2011 RL Tech and would like to fix the incessant beeping while in reverse without taking the vehicle in to the stealership.

I did read the above linked manual and tried flushing the sensors on the rear bumper, to no avail.

Still experience a constant beeping while in R. Can anyone help out with this problem?
