So I backed up and bumped my drivers side mirror on a concrete post and it bulged the plastic cap on the back of the side mirror. it is slightly buckled and needs to be reconnected flush.
Do these caps just come off with a plastic trim tool or are there internal screws behind the internal parts?
I've tried to find videos or resources on the forum but its always a replacement instead of a disassembly video.

Can't say I've ever heard of taking it apart. It's easy to replace the mirror - pop off the interior door panel, unplug the plug, unscrew a couple of bolts, and reverse install. Takes about 15 minutes. I had one crack too (there is a post on it), found a replacement in the junkyard.
